This holiday apartment was very dated, dark, and had a damp smell. The pull-out sofa was extremely uncomfortable, making it impossible for anyone to get a good night’s sleep. The walls were paper-thin, so we could hear everything from our neighbors, including footsteps, and toilets flushing. As a family with a young child, we felt like we had spent three days in an assisted living facility rather than a vacation resort. The staff in the main office were friendly, but unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say about our stay.

It was a wonderful stay the room was very clean and spacious. The common area downstairs was my favorite part of my whole stay. Wide variety of games to play with other guest that are also staying.

South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.

The cabin and grounds are well-maintained. The pool was crystal clear and the slide was a nice addition. Gorgeous views!

It's a tired old inn and needs a make over. Keurig coffee machine not accessible until after 7:00 AM. Would not stay there again.

Room Was clean and staff was friendly

The rooms were very clean and large. Good sized bathroom and shower. However a,entities were only ok. Very disappointing food options as no coffee cafe, if youdidnt pay for high end Morto s steakhouse then you are out of luck. Casino did not open u til 9:00 am and very limited variety of slot machines. They many duplicates of a few slots which made a boring experience after an hour.
