Missing security latch in room. Only one of the electric car chargers was functional. Waffles were great but no healthy options for breakfast (Trix yogurt?). Asked evening front desk staff to hold my small carry on bag the next day: “there’s not enough room and we don’t usually do it, but you can ask the person at the front desk tomorrow.” Asked for late check-out and noon was offered, which wasn’t helpful. It would have been fine if I could have stored my bag. The person the next day said yes about storing the bag, but that’s a terrible policy to not offer that as a rule. Front desk people and staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, however. Not sure if the area was all that safe so a bit worried about my car, but the property was really well-lit and we didn’t experience any problems.

We had an amazing stay and can't wait to come back! The cabin was absolutely beautiful—spotlessly clean, cozy, and surrounded by peaceful forest views. Having lake access made our stay even more special, whether it was relaxing by the water or taking in the quiet scenery. One of the highlights was the spa. The sauna, cold plunge, and wellness spaces were the perfect way to unwind after spending time outdoors. Everything about the property encourages you to slow down, disconnect, and enjoy nature. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with beautiful cabins, lake access, and wonderful spa amenities, Vanderkamp is the perfect destination. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already planning our next visit!

Hotel is wonderful - have stayed multiple times & would stay again! Rooms are clean & beds are comfortable. Hotel bar staff was great!

Room was very clean. Check in desk not very welcoming. Wouldn't hurt to smile a bit. Gardens need attention outside. Mary in the dining room is your greatest asset. But at her age, how much longer will she be willing to work? Then you've got nobody there. She is always friendly and helpful on the floor, and quick to clean tables. Even brought something to my table that I had forgotten. She is so well appreciated I saw guests taking their photo with her. All other dining personnel leave much to be desired. Never a good morning or smile, Didn't even show any recognition I was there. One morning I had to eat outside in the cold breeze due to no tables available. BRING BACK the tables removed from the adjacent room. Some tables were empty, but had dirty dishes and spills. No one in sight to clean them. I waited. No one showed. Short of staff that they need to stay in the kitchen instead of being on the floor? One staff I asked a question, but got no verbal response. Just a hand motion. Not everyone speaks English enough to converse?? One staff came out and took hot food back into the kitchen to eat. The Menu has changed from before, and not to make things better. Hotel disregards our health feeding unhealthy high fat hot foods. Look for example at those Jimmy Dean wrapped sandwiches. Unbelievable fat content. Bananas put out were half rotten. Utensil cups not kept filled, nor napkins. Eating breakfast there was not a pleasant experience.

The hotel was very dirty and in bad shape. Took a while to check in because the door latch was locking it shut. We had to be put in another room. The room was extremely sticky and dirty. Not recommended.
