This is an old hotel in NYC, so it has small rooms and is a bit funky but we really liked it. The rooms were clean. There was a pedestal sink in the bathroom (nice tile) so they had added a shelf for toiletries. The hot water was was a bit slow getting to the the 12th floor but it warmed up pretty quickly. The wall outlets were old and too loose for a phone charger but there was a charging station on the desk that works beautifully. The staff was extremely helpful and really seemed to want to make sure guests enjoyed their stay. The location is great. You can easily go to 96th street and catch a crosstown bus or an subway to go down or uptown. We would definitely consider staying there again.

The facilities and staff were top-notch.

I had a serious issue with this hotel: I checked my suitcase with their luggage storage room during my stay, and when I went to retrieve it, the staff were unable to locate it. They had me wait for 1 hour while they were trying to find it, and I almost missed my train because of this, despite me telling them multiple times that I needed to leave. Aside from this incident, the room itself was clean and the location was convenient, but this experience with lost luggage was a major letdown. If you're storing bags with this hotel, I'd think twice, or make sure you get a detailed claim ticket and confirm their camera coverage. I've had to escalate this directly with hotel management and am considering further action if it isn't resolved soon.

They are understaffed, the faciliities and rooms are shabby and not as clean as they should. The windows in our room were so filled with muck we could see out of the top 1/3 only. You should bring your own shower toiletries if you don't want to wash your hair with a bar of soap and have no conditioner.

Excellent location , friendly staff .Big buffet for breakfast.
