Do not book at this hotel!! It was absolutely disgusting, bedding was dirty-covered in hair and who knows what dried spots and stains on the sheets and pillows. There was a dead roach on the floor. There was nothing in the bathroom (soap) and no garbage can anywhere. The room was reserved for 2 adults and only 1 towel and 1 hand towel were offered (no wash cloth or second set for the other guest). The floors were dirty and the walls splattered with (food?) something. The door was peeling/split from what looked like severe water damage and had no lock on it. There was an a/c unit but no heat. The smoke detector on the ceiling was covered by a plastic shower cap. Reality of this place was nothing like what the pictures posted showed!!! We ended up sleeping in the car in the parking lot. When we first arrived it was before the 3pm check in (1:30pm) - usually other hotels allow early access. The guy at the desk said that check out is at 11am and the previous nights guests hadn’t left yet (that didn’t make sense to me why they were still there). I explained that we would not be back until after midnight due to the obligation we were in the area for. We got back around 1-1:30am to check in. The office was locked and had to call to get someone to give us the keys. Had it not been the middle of the night I would have refused the room and left. I wish I could add more than 8 photos

I was excited to stay at the Richardson, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk staff seemed unsure about basic hotel operations and were unable to provide clear information. The biggest issue occurred around 11:30 PM when the fire alarm went off, forcing guests to evacuate. There was no staff guidance on where to go, what was happening, or what guests should expect. To make matters worse, the alarm continued for nearly an hour before it was finally shut off. The following morning, there was no one at the front desk when I needed assistance during checkout and departure. I understand that emergencies happen, but the lack of communication, organization, and guest support throughout the experience was frustrating. Given the reputation and price point of the property, I expected a much higher level of service.

We've been to this hotel on and off throughout the years because it's sentimental. We and many guests stayed there our wedding weekend 20+years ago. My husband and I try to get back there every so often for a getaway, but this time it was very different. It has been at least 5-6 years since we've been there, Hotels.com was offering a discounted rate that was great for our budget and we decided to do a last minute trip. It was disappointing. Our room was dingy and desperately needs updating! The wallpaper is peeling from the walls all over the room, bathroom towel bar is dented in, hair dryer was full of dust buildup, pretty sure the smoke detector is way overdue for replacing and the air conditioning unit was filthy inside. Even with the discounted rate, I felt like I paid for a cheap motel room. The staircase leading to the main eating area, (which is also usually used for wedding pictures) needs the carpet replaced, it has multiple tears in it and is extremely thin. I did feel like housekeeping did a good job on the general cleaning of the room and overall the hotel staff was very nice and professional. Those are the only positives I have for this visit. It's disheartening to know that an establishment that has held the Salvatore's name for so long has been neglected. It saddens me that we unfortunately will not be returning in the future, unless major renovations are made.
