The clerks at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Kevin was a superstar!

My friend and I stayed at the Mansion for 10 days and it was a joy! The breakfasts are really gourmet and really kept us nourished until the late afternoon. The staff were very good natured and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. I heard no noise from inside the hotel though I was in a front-facing room and there was some street noise. The parking lot across the street was very convenient. Also, the location to restaurants is amazing. We walked quite a bit through the Elmwood neighborhood quite a bit and were routinely delighted in all the beautiful houses and hidden shops and bar/restaurants.

This hotel is unique. It resides within a building designed by H.H. Richardson, one of the great 19th c. architects and the father of Romanesque Revival style in the U.S. The experience is particularly interesting because this building (and others next to it) were originally designed as a mental health asylum.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. If I were rating just on the room, I’d give it 4 stars. I did like the coffee machine in the lobby. But the lobby is tiny, neighborhood is very busy. It is central to many things, but it’s jam packed behind loads of strip malls, box stores and chain restaurants. Some staff were very friendly. Some didn’t look our way.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this house! Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect—peacefully tucked near the mountains while still being just 5 minutes from town, making it easy to enjoy both nature and local shops and restaurants.

The Roycroft Inn is unique and provides a respite place with history. The restaurant had excellent food that is part of the Inn. The Roycroft campus across the street is very interesting and worth a walk through and tour. The Inn has an incredible collection of arts and craft furniture in the main rooms as well as the sleeping rooms. Overall the property could use a refresh, new carpet and painting and a scrubbing. The bones of the places are great, but the interiors are tired.
