Room was ok, nothing special. Check-in via cellphone was a little strange but worked. Decent place to stay.

This could have been great. They definitely tried to update the vibe and it did hit some good marks. We arrived after 10 pm. We had noted this on our reservation and they stated their office was open until midnight. When we arrived there was a note on the office door to call a number. When I called the lady said she had just stepped out but we could let ourselves into the room bc the door was unlocked and THE KEY was on the nightstand. That felt unsafe! Upon entering the room we discovered the entire interior painted an almost black green. That would have been great but they had exactly one flickering nightstand lamp in the entire place that was the sole source of lighting. still on the phone with the “front desk attendant” I said it was very dark and hard to see, was there a light switch or lamp I was missing? She said the second lamp must be missing and questioned if I needed it bc she had stepped out to the store (on a Sunday night, after 10:30PM in the ADK). I did say we would need the lamp bc it was very difficult to see. Stayed up for over an hour, She never showed up and we went to sleep, woke up freezing bc we had no idea how to put the heat up. why call no chance in getting any help. The amenities were nonexistent. Thank god we didn’t need more towels. Upon leaving ran into another couple that said they hadn’t seen anyone on staff at all. We deposited the key and left without ever seeing any staff or the lamp. Great place for people on the run, Room 2 is unlocked

I would just note that the bedrooms are on the top floor and there are stairs going to the ground floor where the living area, balcony, kitchen and dining area are. The rooms were lovely cabins with lots of room. It included all types of goodies to make your stay welcoming. In the bathroom there were toiletries, a hair dryer, and soft fluffy towels. We greatly appreciated the complementary coffee and tea as we'd forgotten to pack those. We also liked the sampling of books in our cabin to occupy our downtime. The property itself is stunning. Water surrounds both sides of the property and there are canoes and kayaks, fishing poles, umbrellas and lots of other things you can borrow if the need arises. I would love to come back for a longer stay. The only downsides I would note (and they were pretty minor for us): the view from the Kirkwood room had a small view of the water. The pictures online made it seem like a wide open view. Additionally, we arrived at dusk and it was indeed difficult to find your room (directions were written well -- just wouldn't advise arriving at nighttime). The sound carries, so you need to make sure you're pretty quiet at night as we could hear singing and coversations from the neighboring rooms. All in all, I would 100% return again. It would be a nice place to relax and unwind.
