Yes, the breakfast was good & spread (choice's) was commendable. Staff was courteous. Room was clean. Pool was nice. The only drawback was the fact that the hotel needs a refurbishment to keep up with competition. Bathrooms, vanity's, carpets, etc Thank you!

Hotel Grinnell Downtown, an Ascend Collection Hotel
It was really cold, and I didn’t realize I needed to use a space heater. It was tucked away in the room and no one mentioned that there was no central heat. Also very loud and echoey, as you’d imagine from an elementary school. But it was really interesting architecturally.

There were holes in the wall, the tub was torn up, the HVAC unit was broken, there were multiple unidentified stains, etc. I don’t expect much out a $55 room, but ...
