This is a wonderful, clean motel. The retro feel is nice. We appreciated two bedrooms.

Floor was sticky and teenagers running the place

This property had a few very good aspects. The location was excellent, near all the sites, good restaurants and beautiful scenery. It was right on the beach with a perfect lake view. Amazing sunrises. The room was large enough with nice beds and adequate space. However, there were some real negatives. The first room we were given had a toilet with not enough pressure to flush properly and a screen door to the patio facing the lake which was both ripped and stuck so it could not open or close all the way. The staff changed our room, which required extra moving on our part but was a welcome change. Both those things now worked. But, the new room did not have a working phone nor any hangers at all. Landline I can do without, hangers not so much. I requested hangers, was told I would receive them, never did. So, Iwent back to the office for a third time and was told there would be no hangers as the type needed were the ones eith permanent, circular, metal attachments and they had no more. End of story. After close to an hour of discussions, moving, more discussions and still ending up with an unresolved problem, I was not happy. Additionally, the patio was basic concrete with 2 plastic chairs and the steps up to the first floor were shredded, sand-filled carpet that were in need of replacement. Granted, it is difficult to keep beach property clean, but still... I loved the views and locations but would book elsewhere next time.

Very nice common areas. Restaurant, bar, patio, all nice. Room was just OK. Nothing in the area in terms of shopping or even walking. This in a rural, but scenic area.

The people were very friendly. The breakfast was great. They let us park for free while we went to the island for the day. I highly recommend this place.

The room looked to be newly renovated on first glance - and while the bathroom looked like it had a newer flooring and a tub surround - the trim was very roughly done - so much so there was a hole in the wall where the trim was behind the toilet. The shower head was definitely older and the faucet was very had to work as it wobbled as you turned it on and almost felt like the handle would fall off as you tried to get the temperature correct. The option of the queen bed in addition to the king bed was nice, but be aware it was in a separate room with no windows. Water pressure was meh…

When we arrived it took 10 minutes of bell ringing and finally yelling at the front desk for the clerk to come out. Probably using ear pods/phones. After awakening the next morning I noted several dark red and creamy spots and stains on the bed skirt and carpet between the beds. The breakfast was bare minimum and there was no coffee available. Checkout took 2 employees and 5 minutes of working on the computer. We were told they couldn’t print out a receipt because I used a third party to book the reservation. Finally as we gladly left the property we noticed the parking area surface was in dire need of repair that we didn’t see as we arrived after dark.
