What an awesome hotel I wish they were everywhere. Everything was excellent…

Unfortunately, the true quality of this hotel and location are poorly displayed. The shopping center in the basement is vacant and boarded up. The parking garage is more expensive than listed and is seperatly operated so you cannot sort out the increase or problems easily. For traveling solo females the parking garage, vacant shopping center and stairwells are a bit unnerving. The elevator to the hotel and parking garage are slower than slow. The hotel and it's historic features are cool but this is by no means a luxury hotel experience. There are plaster and water issues, stains, dirty carpets, bad smells, slow plumbing and turn on the hot water 30 minutes before you intend to shower. The staff was pleasant and as helpful as they could be given the circumstances, I'm sure they recieve alot of complaints, issues and disappointment.

The customer service was excellent on arrival, however that morning when we went to eat breakfast, the lady preparing was taking everything away about 20 minutes til. We ask for milk for my grandson that’s 5 for milk, she was very rude and told us the milk was gone, she had already taken butter, and everything else out of refrigerator.
