Horse Cave Motel
Room needs a lot of updates. Room was large. The AC had mildew on the vents which was kind of gross. Mattress was older and had an indent where people had slept wish it had been more comfortable. Price was excellent for a one night stay.

The Lodge at Mammoth Cave
We stayed in one of the little cabins at Mammoth. It was immaculate and very peaceful. We enjoyed the dark skies, the sound of the birds chirping, and the beautiful location. I was worried due to budget price about cleanliness, but this hotel was SUPER CLEAN! Front desk point person (Im sorry, I hope I get her name correct) Tammy Lynn, was absolutely fantastic! I hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

When we checked in at 4 we had to wait another 45 minutes because our room was still getting cleaned. Thankful the check in guy was very apologetic and kind, he definitely deserves 5 stars. The breakfast was small nothing hot unless you like the waffle maker.

I arrived at the hotel at 1pm after driving 8 hours and was told if I checked in it would be $35 added to my bill for checking in early. Also I put a credit card on hold for incidentals and was told Expedia didn’t charge the proper sales tax so I was charged

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was satisfactory. Room needed thorough dusting, new bed linens as they are a bit long in the tooth, and provide extra pillows with cases. Beware trains can rumble nearby at various times in the night.
