Your checkin is done by a kiosk that essentially tells you, you are not worth greeting. This place is a dump, they know they're a dump and they don't feel comfortable talking to their own guests. Enter a virtual kiosk that happily takes your money and burps out room keys. After that, you're on your own. To say the room was cramped is unfair. The room layout was designed by a person who has likely never been there and who doesn't care how uncomfortable it is. Get ready to slide sideways between the bed and dresser! Eventually you'll need the bathroom and you'll discover on your way to the seat that the toilet paper has to be dodged or you'll wind up bruised and confused. The bathroom door didn't shut all the way so not only were you in a tight and awkward spot but you have to use the honor system to keep things private. Housekeeping visited us two out of three days and that was nice. Wish we had three out of three though. Place was in bad condition overall but the nightly fights in the parking lot should make up for that. Yet another place that is happy to take your money for bringing your dog and provide nothing for a dog. I get that they should should charge a cleaning deposit, but if you don't have even a lawn to take your dog to walk, there is nothing you should be charging for. I am getting tired of pet friendly merely meaning we are happy to take your money. Just an up charge where one wasn't due. And to tell me it's a cleaning fee is crap. There was dog pee on the wall!

Terrible breakfast and facility for it

Check in and out was done at a kiosk with a virtual assistant. When the lobby is busy. Mornings it is hard to hear the virtual assistant.

We enjoyed our stay at the Oceanview Inn. It was clean, comfortable and a perfect location for our visit to the Redwoods.

We liked it was on the beach. However, there was no air conditioning and we had to leave the sliding glass door ajar and the screen did not lock. We had to find items in the room to place in the rail to limit the distance the sliding glass door would open. Being unfamiliar with the area, we were on high alert all night for an intruder. It is also right on Hwy 101. The highway noise dissipates after 10:00 PM and starts back up around 7:00 AM. It was in a handy location to reach Prairie Creek and all the interesting Redwood Park sites.
