Clean is room, staff is helpful, covered free parking is a huge plus, and price is good, 20 mins walk to Japantown. The area is a bit run down with unhoused people sitting/hanging around on the side of the hotel talking very loud

We've stayed at the San Francisco Proper Hotel many times because we have season tickets to the San Francisco Broadway series, and it has become one of our favorite places to stay in the city. The Proper is a beautiful boutique hotel with a stylish, welcoming atmosphere and outstanding service. One of its biggest advantages is the location—it's just steps from the Golden Gate Theatre, making it incredibly convenient for catching a Broadway show. We also love starting our mornings with breakfast at Villon, the hotel's restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, the service is friendly, and it's the perfect way to begin the day. The hotel also has an amazing rooftop bar with fantastic views of the city. We've been up there and really enjoyed it, although these days we're usually more interested in getting a good night's sleep after the show than staying out late! The combination of beautiful accommodations, exceptional staff, wonderful dining, and an unbeatable theater district location keeps us coming back. We always look forward to our next stay!

It was an amazing experience. Their Lexas luxury car experience was an add-on bonus. Location and food is super nice.

Nice hotel in a convenient location and the staff was very nice. The free breakfast was a little bit of circus with hotel guests swarming the place for a relatively modest breakfast. I liked the area and free parking is nice. My one big complaint...the airport shuttle to and from the hotel seems unreliable - did not pick us up at "arrivals" had to go search for the shuttle at departures which didn't make much sense. And, it just does not run very frequently.
