Hotel McCoy - Art, Coffee, Beer, Wine
A cool retro vibe with modern touches. We liked the art and murals throughout the property. The room was clean with blackout curtains and the bed was comfortable. As Gen Xers, we loved the little video game area and pinball lounge. We would stay again !

This is an important omission for anyone with special diet needs, or to simply reheat a cup of coffee. The breakfast was simple but well made. However, expect to pay over $20 if you leave ...

Book Cheap Last-Minute Hotels in Tucson
Don’t let the desert landscape fool you into thinking this is a one-horse town. The second-largest city in Arizona beats the heat with a blast of indie cool, thanks to its college vibe and mix of Southwest-style adventures.
After you take in one of those brilliant vermilion mountain-backed sunsets, you are going to need a place to rest up for your next jaunt of day tripping. Luckily, we have sizzling deals on some of the best hotels in Tucson that’ll make your trip to the Old Pueblo even more amazing. From hotels near downtown Tucson to those that are nestled in the outskirts away from it all, you’ll be living it up in style and with plenty of money left in your wallet to do this desert hot spot up right.
Getting Wild in the West
I’ll Be Your Huckleberry: Be sure to put your ten-gallon hat in your bag after you’ve booked a stay at one of the best hotels in Tucson, because you’ll need for all your road trippin’. Drive down I-10 East for an hour, where you’ll arrive at the formerly rough-and-tumbleweed Tombstone. While this town’s silver streak ran out long ago, you can still get a feel for the wild west with a visit to the OK Corral, where period actors re-enact the famous gunfight. If you rather stay at one of the cheap hotels in Tucson that’s more local, but still want to time travel, then head to the Old Tucson Studios, where countless western movies were filmed. For something more authentic, the Mission San Xavier del Bac’s free admission gives you a glimpse of stunning 18th-century architecture.
Something Weird and Wonderful: Sure, every city has its share of museums, and you’ll find the standards near hotels in downtown Tucson that always impress, like the Pima Air & Space Museum, the Franklin Auto Museum, and Tucson Museum of Art. But why not take a walk on the wildly weird side and check out the Mini Time Machine of Miniatures, which houses over 500 antique small-scale worlds that will transport you through a space imagination continuum. Or you can get a fix of the learned kind, by going to the University of Arizona’s History of Pharmacy Museum. But we say if weather permits, check out the Valley of the Moon, which is George Par Legler’s attempt to bring some surreal magical to an otherwise desolate desert landscape.
See the Spikey Scenery: If you live to be outdoors, then Tucson’s fall and spring are made for you. Pack your best hiking shoes, and leave your hotel in Tucson to enjoy these seasonal temps that are just right for exploring the iconic cactus-filled fields of Saguaro National Park, the stalagmites and stalactites of Colossal Cave, or those Insta-worthy sunsets from Sentinel Peak Park.
Have a Southwest-Style Feast: If you think all Mexican food is the same, let Tucson’s food scene make you revaluate all your assumptions. Make sure you packed your appetite for your stay in a downtown Tucson hotel—you’re going to need it. BK Carne Asada & Hot Dogs claim they are the best in town (and they may be right). But you’ll find more amazing Mexican eateries than you can shake corn tortilla at around town. Check out Tania’s 33 and El Merendo for some authentically delicious grub.
