The front desk staff and staff at breakfast were polite, friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and easy. My room including large screen TV was very clean and spacious. It was an excellent stay. Thank you.

The Essex Golf and Country Club
The spa and pool was excellent and the gym fantastic. Quiet location, a little out of the way. Nice room and extra large bed. Bathroom a bit dated but acceptable. Nice bar, golf course and tennis facilities including paddle courts.

Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG
Very clean and comfortable room, good standard and condition of furnishings. Great shower with quality Dove products provided. Staff were relaxed and friendly. Very good breakfast, lots of choice, (however I thought the coffee wasn't pleasant). Adequate parking (although it's charged at £8\24h).

Comfortable bed, pressure not great on shower. Car park empty in the morning at 7.30, did anyone stay that night.

The Mill Hotel
Dirty towels on the corridor floor for at least 20 hours. Room carpet badly stained. Room smelt musty and was tired and poorly equipped. Key cards kept failing and had to be reprogrammed. Communal areas were grim and unwelcoming. A very depressing stay despite the staff trying to be helpful.
